Meet Jamie Rios
Dedicated to student success.
I have been teaching in Special Education since 2002, working with students across all grade levels from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
I hold a Master's Degree in Literacy from the University of San Diego and am extensively trained in various data-driven reading and math intervention programs. This background allows me to pinpoint exactly what each student needs and create a customized, effective path to their academic success.
I have also earned CA Credentials: Single Subject English, Multiple Subject, Education Specialist and Administrative services. I have an extensive background supporting students with mental health challenges, learning disabilities and in the Trauma Informed Education setting.
In my personal life, I have 2 amazing kids: Nicolas, age 27, who is a chef, and Aidan, age 25, who works as a professional photographer. I love stand-up paddling, hiking, and time with family and my 3 dogs. I grew up on Catalina Island and am currently writing a series of Children's Literature about my experiences there.
